New On-Demand Webinar on Solving Corrosion Challenges with Materials Modeling Tools

A new webinar is available from Thermo-Calc Software that discusses how materials modeling tools such as Thermo-Calc can help you solve corrosion challenges using the CALPHAD method.

The webinar includes examples related to aqueous corrosion, molten salt corrosion, high-temperature gas corrosion, and degradation of coatings through interdiffusion. The webinar is on-demand, so you can watch it at your convenience.

Tips and Tricks: Speeding Up TTP and CCT Calculations

For a general precipitation calculation, the precipitates are divided into a large number of size groups in order to get a good size distribution, for example. However, this can make multi-component calculations slow. There are some cases when this is not necessary, such as when performing Time-Temperature-Precipitation (TTP) and Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT) calculations. You can therefore speed up these calculations by changing the settings.

TCOX Database Used to Predict Deposit-Induced Corrosion of High-Temperature Coatings

A paper published in The Journal of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society investigates the degradation of protective coatings in gas turbine engines due to ingested debris by using thermodynamic modeling, including the Metal Oxide Solutions (TCOX) database from Thermo-Calc Software.
