User Group Meetings in Korea, Russia and Poland

We have three user group meetings coming up this fall in Korea, Russia and Poland respectively. User group meetings are a great way for users to learn about the latest features of the software, learn how to better use Thermo-Calc and meet other users who may be working on similar projects.

Free NECD-NEA Nuclear Database

Last October we told you about a free nuclear database that was being developed in a joint project among 9 organizations, representing 6 member states that would be available starting last December. We received a tremendous response from users who were interested in obtaining this internationally recognised database, so we wanted to remind you about it now that it's available.

Free Educational Demo Package

In an effort to promote the teaching of computational materials engineering, Thermo-Calc Software offers a free educational demo package for teachers and students.

The package comes with a limited version of the software, select databases and exercises designed for the classroom. The teacher's version of the package also includes answers to all of the exercises. The software can be downloaded for free and is good for a full year.

The limited version of the software is different from the regular version in that only 3 components can be selected, whereas the full version can handle systems of up to 40 components.

We welcome teachers and students to download the educational demo packages:

Thermo-Calc Training

The next set of introductory training courses for Thermo-Calc, DICTRA and TC-PRISMA are scheduled for October 2015 in both Stockholm, Sweden, and Pittsburgh, USA.

These courses provide a solid foundation for using the software tools, as well as "hands-on" experience filled with examples, insights and tips based on the years of practical experience of our instructors, which allow attendees to get up and running with the software much more quickly.

Some comments from attendees of our last training courses included:

"Very good introductory course with lots of examples that make me confident in doing basic work and provided ideas for more advanced research."

"Very helpful overall. Would recommend to others."

"Overall this week of courses was well worth the time. I feel prepared to get busy with Thermo-Calc and DICTRA and TC-PRISMA. Thank you!"
